Red Orchid at a glance

Red Orchid is our best seller and I would love to figure out why and how to create another best seller. That is a beauty of creation. You create something and you don’t know what will be the outcome. With Red orchid it was love at first sight.
“Creativity is the process of having original ideas that have value. It is a process; it’s not random.” Ken Robinson

Red Orchid – Did you know?

Because most orchids depends on a single species of bird, bee or other insects for pollination, if that species is eliminated, the particular orchid that depends of that species becomes threatened by extinction. Thus, habitat fragmentation and rainforest destruction may eventually prove devastating to the great number of orchid species in existence today.

Spiderweb – delicate substance

This time I would like to introduce to you one of our new designs – Spiderweb. I have been fascinated by spiderwebs for some time now and couldn’t resist to use one of their creations on La Brella’s canopy. Did you know that people have been able to replicate many natural substances and fibers but spider silk is not one of them. The molecular structure of spider silk is simply too complex for us to recreate.

As you know already La Brella umbrellas are inspired by the beauty of the rainforest. The Dragonfly is amazing. Did you know that their eyes have about 30,000 lenses? Meaning it can see around the whole surface of its eye whilst having a low eye resolution. On the other hand, a human eye only has one lens and sees better than a dragonfly, but it is limited to seeing in a semi-circle like field of view.

La Brella wants to make a difference and its goal is to spread awareness about the rainforest protection. How? La Brella creates unique umbrellas whose large canopy allows one to carry the message through. Have a look at the attached video for more info.
